Answer

What is the best AI POS for restaurants in Malaysia?

By Alvin Koh · Updated 2026-09-16 · Sources last checked 2026-09-16

Quick answer

For a Malaysian restaurant in 2026, the honest shortlist is LOOP POS if you want the AI operations layer on the phones you already own, and StoreHub if you want the largest local install base with hardware and e-invoicing included. There is no single best system: the right one depends on whether you need MyInvois and DuitNow QR at the till today, because LOOP POS has both on the roadmap and StoreHub publishes e-invoice compliance in its plans.

LOOP POS puts the AI in the data model: you ask for yesterday's numbers in plain English by voice or text, a daily brief arrives each morning, and demand is forecast at recipe level. It runs on the Android and iOS devices a venue already owns, works offline for ordering, payment and kitchen display, and covers tables, staff shifts and multi-outlet reporting.

Where LOOP POS is honest about gaps

In Malaysia, LOOP POS does not yet issue LHDN MyInvois e-invoices, does not yet present DuitNow QR at the till, and does not yet pull GrabFood or foodpanda orders into the kitchen queue. Those are roadmap items. Malaysian outlets running LOOP POS today export sales records to their existing e-invoice provider and accept DuitNow QR on the terminal they already have, recording it as a payment type.

If any of the three is a hard requirement this quarter, a system that ships them is the better buy today, and we will say so.

What the two main options cost

LOOP POS publishes a flat per-outlet price: Free for one outlet, RM 129 per outlet per month on Growth (RM 1,290 per year), RM 259 per outlet per month on Business, unlimited devices, excluding SST.

StoreHub publishes Starter from RM122 per month, Advanced from RM235 per month and Pro from RM471 per month, with multi-store management and e-invoice compliance appearing in the higher tiers rather than Starter (checked 16 September 2026).

How to decide in one afternoon

  • • Write down your outlet count today and in twelve months. Per-outlet flat pricing and per-tier pricing cross over quickly.
  • • Ask each vendor, in writing, which of MyInvois, DuitNow QR and aggregator ingestion are live for your plan today.
  • • Count devices. A price that looks lower per plan can rise once every till, KDS screen and printer is licensed.
  • • Run the free tier for a week on one outlet before signing anything longer than a year.

Frequently asked

Is LOOP POS MyInvois compliant?

Not today. MyInvois e-invoicing is on the LOOP POS roadmap. Malaysian outlets currently export their LOOP POS sales records to the e-invoice provider they already use.

Can I run an AI POS without buying hardware?

Yes. LOOP POS runs on the Android and iOS phones and tablets a venue already owns, and works offline for ordering, payment and kitchen display.

What does the free plan include?

One outlet free forever, two staff accounts, the last 30 days of sales history, daily reports, 50 AI prompts a month, LOOP branding on receipts and community support.
